At this years 111th Annual American Optometric Association (AOA) Congress and 38th Annual American Optometric Student Association (AOSA) Conference: Optometrys Meeting, held in Seattle, five recipients were presented with the AOAs annual awards.


Arol R. Augsburger, O.D., president of Illinois College of Optometry, received the Distinguished Service Award.


Linda D. Johnson, O.D.,  of Jackson, Miss., was named Optometrist of the Year. Elizabeth Draper Muckley, O.D., of Uniontown, Ohio, was named Young Optometrist of the Year. Mrs. Beverly Roberts, C.P.O.A., of Magee, Miss., was named Paraoptometric of the Year.


Mr. James Kesteloot, president and executive director of the Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, was presented with the Apollo Award.

Also, Christopher Quinn, O.D., contributing editor of Review of Optometry, was elected to the Board of Trustees.
