Fundus Camera

The Orion, by Nidek, Inc., recently received FDA approval. It is a fully-automated, non-mydriatic fundus camera that takes several images of the patients retina and uses an Ethernet hookup to send images to a networked laptop for review.

Hand Sanitizer

The GermControl Touch-less Hand Sanitizing Unit, by Gulden Ophthalmics, uses an infrared sensor as a trigger to dispense its companion product, GermStar Instant Hand Sanitizing Solution, also by Gulden. The battery-operated dispenser may be mounted on a wall and features a gravity-based dispensing mechanism. The touch-less design lessens the risk of cross-contamination, the company says.

The GermStar sanitizing solution is self evaporative and comes in pre-measured packets.
