Silicone Hydrogel Lenses
Air Optix Aqua contact lenses, by CIBA Vision, feature the new Aqua Moisture System to lubricate the lens for initial comfort, minimize the rate of lens dehydration and resist deposits on the lens surface.
Made of lotrafilcon B, the lenses feature a 33% water content and are available from -0.25D to -8.00D in 0.25D steps, from -8.50D to -10.00D in 0.50D steps, and from +0.25D to +6.00D in 0.25D steps. The lenses have a diameter of 14.2mm, a base curve of 8.6mm and a light blue tint for ease of handling. Prescription iZon Gray Sun Lenses are now available from Ophthonix. These lenses are manufactured through a three-layer process, and the dye is incorporated into the middle layer, made of proprietary iZonik polymer.
The iZon High Resolution family of lenses can be prescribed for nearsighted, farsighted and astigmatic patientsand progressive lenses are available as well. The iZon Gray Sun Lenses are prescribed in the same fashion as the other lenses. A Z-View Wavefront aberrometer measures the eyes optical fingerprint, and the lens is manufactured to match this print.
